Red Clover is often compared to alfalfa both for its nutritional value and appearance. The flowers were used in folk medicine as a remedy for lumps or knots. Its uses are incredible throughout its long history and there have been many studies on Red Clover's active properties. Red Clover is high or very high in the following nutrients:

• Niacin
• Phosphorus
• Potassium
• Thiamine
• Vitamin C
Cautions: Red Clover has some blood clotting properties. Therefore, you may want to avoid using it while taking blood thinning agents for conditions such as lupus. It should also be avoided during pregnancy.
Uses: It's mostly used for internal applications: teas, tinctures, capsules, food recipes, etc.
Storage: The nutrients in Red Clover are very sensitive to air and light exposure. It should be kept in an airtight container and stored in a dark, dry, and cool place.
Note: In culinary amounts, it is considered generally safe. Red Clover should not be taken in medicinal amounts in pregnancy, nursing, or if you are on medications (there are a lot of potential interactions therefore please see your healthcare practitioner prior to using it.)
