- Udder Comfort Herbal Compress
The nursing bond between a mom and her baby is one of countless benefits from physical nutrition to emotional nurturing. Few things cause more distress to the nursing relationship than the threat of mastitis.
With more than 10 years of combined nursing experience, two veteran moms developed this fantastic herbal blend that can be used to bring comfort to the breast, as well as help support health topically. Its beautiful assortment of herbs makes a soothing compress.
Any disruption to nursing can cause problems, so eliminating as many barriers as possible is optimal for both mom and baby. Since frequent nursing is encouraged, using the compress between sessions can help mom stay comfortable while nursing.
With carefully selected flowers and herbs that help to ease discomfort, Udder Comfort Herbal Compress™ is your friend when experiencing clogged ducts, engorgement, soreness or even mastitis. When warmed and then applied as a poultice compress, the gentle moist heat helps to soothe and provide topical relief to the angry breasts, restoring comfort and ease to the nursing relationship.

- Works as promised
Of the two mastitis products, I prefer the tea...not being much of a compress type of girl. I find them messy and irritating, but that said, when I get desperate enough, I do eventually cave and use this compress. It is super soothing, and one of those things where I always kick myself for not doing it sooner. It has a very pain relieving affect, that is much sought after when you feel like your boob is being hacked apart by a chainsaw. Unlike ibuprofen, this stuff really goes right to the source of the pain. (and hopefully also works to draw the infection out). I mix some up with hot/warm water, and pack it into an old bra. Then I layer warmed rice sock over the top (which I keep warming up whenever it cools down) so I can keep the compress's moist heat continuous.
Pros: Works as advertised.
Cons: Your bra looks like it ate a salad.
