There are many different skin tones, as you may already know. Some women even have variation of skin tone, especially on their face. However, you can easily find out if you fall into a "warm" or "cool" skintone category.

There are a few different ways that you can find out:

Method 1

Take notice of the colors that you know suit your well. Do you look good in rich colors, such as navy blue, dark green, plum, black, fire-engine red, hot pink, magenta or silver? You probably have a cool skin tone. Do you look good in warm, earthy colors, such as light green, gold, mocha, peach, orange or bronze? You probably have a warm skin tone.

Method 2

Pull your hair back into a bun or a ponytail. Hold up a white piece of paper and look into the mirror. If your skin looks more yellow next to the paper, you have a warm skin tone. If your face looks bluish, you have a cool skin tone.

Note: There are some women that have neutral skin tones. They usually look good in all colors. However, even they may look better in certain colors since no one has a perfectly neutral skin tone.
