The water in our little town often has a strong chlorine smell. Since it seems as though they can't get the chlorine right, I hate to think how much fluoride they might be putting in the water. These filters give me great peace of mind for my family.
Priming takes a little longer than the instructions suggest but it isn't a problem. We are on city water and these filters combined with the black filters make a noticeable difference in our water quality.

We have owned a Berkey for approx. 7 years so this is not the first pair of fluoride/arsenic filters we have purchased. They need a longer time to prime than noted in the accompanying instructions, which is not an issue. We are happy with the fluoride/arsenic filters.
This is how I remember water tasting when I was a kid. Clean, clear water that is leaps and bounds beyond tap or even bottled water. The smell test is all you'll need to convince yourself. Fill the upper chamber with tap water, and while it's filtering, smell a glass of water poured from the purified lower chamber. I never noticed how much like a swimming pool my tap water smelled like before I started using my Berkey.
I also recommend the PF-2 fluoride/arsenic attachments.
