In many circles, folate or folic acid (the synthetic form) are common names, especially in relation to pregnancy. Folate plays so many important roles in a baby's development that it's vital in prenatal vitamin supplements. It's especially crucial for proper neurological development and should be a key component in preparing the body for pregnancy, as the need for folate is greatest in the very earliest weeks, before a woman even realizes she is pregnant.
But did you know that not all folate products are made equal? Many supplements that list folate on the label actually use folic acid, a synthetic version of the natural form of folate. While folic acid can be absorbed and used to a limited degree by many people, there are some whose bodies are unable to convert it into a usable form at all. The form that is pre-converted for easy use is methylated folate or 5-methyltetrahydrofolic acid. In this form, the body is able to utilize it right away without any additional conversion.
Folate is well known for its role in prenatal development and helping to prevent disorders such as Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, and some early miscarriages. However, you may not know that Folate also aids in maintaining balance during hormonal changes, especially during the postpartum period. Folate is also very beneficial for men's reproductive health prior to baby's conception.
Folate's role in supporting overall health cannot be overstated. Studies have indicated its beneficial role in supporting the heart and cardiovascular system. It's also an important nutrient for brain health and plays a role in discouraging neurological and colon disorders. Folate can be a particularly important nutrient for individuals struggling with anemia.
Studies have show those who can benefit from Methylated Folate are those who carry the gene mutation MTHFR, people with absorption issues, women during childbearing years, those struggling with mental or neurological disorders, or anyone who needs supplementation with folate.
Beeyoutiful®'s Methylated Folate is the methylated form of Vitamin Folate providing superior bioavailability that the synthetic form of folic acid is unable to offer.

SO delighted to find this product and add it to my pregnancy supplements! I was having a hard time finding anything I felt I could trust to be well formulated and NOT folic acid. It’s a tiny pill so it’s super easy to take, and every time I see it nestled amongst the others I’m reassured that my baby is getting the best form of this essential nutrient it needs to form and grow well! <3
Should I take this in addition to the SuperMom2Be prenatal vitamins?

They certainly can be taken in conjunction with each other and we have some customers who do. Whether you should or not depends in entirely upon your specific health situation and many variables such as diet, age, how many pregnancies etc. Your care provider is the best source to utilize in recommending whether the amount of folate in SuperMom 2 Bee is sufficient for your situation or whether it would be best to supplement with extra and if so, for how long. Best wishes!
