The arrival of a sweet baby is one of the most joyous times, full of cuddles and sweet baby smells and noises. It can also mean some sore Momma parts that can mean anything from bruises and swelling to cuts and abrasions. We believe it is crucial that women take the time to heal after giving birth and are committed to supporting this process as much as possible.
Beeyoutiful's Madre Mender - Postpartum Sitz Bath is a great way to support the healing process for uncomfortable, swollen, or damaged tissue after giving birth. With a healing and vibrant mixture of herbs, Madre Mender provides a soothing and beautiful bath mixture. Each herb was hand selected not just for healing but to bring some of the most beautiful parts of nature to your healing bath.
Directions: Add 1-2 cups of blend to a lingerie or muslin bag. Place bag with tea in a tub of very hot water; allow to cool enough to soak before entering. Soak as long as necessary.
Calendula - Long used in traditional sitz baths for its healing properties, Calendula has high amounts of flavonoids, plant-based antioxidants that protect cells from being damaged by unstable molecules called free radicals. Calendula is believed by some to have properties that fight inflammation, viruses, and bacteria.
Comfrey Root - Comfrey is reputed in many historical texts to possess the ability to knit bones together. This reputation has undoubtedly accounted for many of the common names (boneset, nipbone, knitbone, healing herb) by which this herb is known. It helps all kinds of tissues, muscles, bones, skin and membranes to heal more rapidly.
Chamomile Flowers - With its soothing properties, it is most famously used as a tea to help calm and soothe from the inside out. Chamomile's role in Madre Mender is to calm discomfort and soothe irritations from the outside in. It's delightful aroma is an added aromatherapy benefit.
Hibiscus - Hibiscus is rich in amino acids that provide a toning effect on the skin without stripping it of much-needed natural oils. It helps to restore elasticity to delicate skin.
Rosehips - Rosehips are reported to have up to 60 percent more vitamin C than citrus fruit and are rich in bioflavonoids. Bioflavonoids are important to build and strengthen body tissue. Rosehips were used in Europe in baths to help heal wounds and increase skin turgor, while decreasing scarring.
Lemon Balm - Ancient Greeks used Lemon Balm on wounds to help heal and soothe. Lemon Balm is known in skin care for its calming, soothing, healing and restoring effect on the skin, while also stimulating circulation.
Lavender- Selected for its soothing and beautiful aroma, but also for the traditionally used wound healing properties as well.

This herbal bath mixture is amazing! I bought the 1/2 pound bag about a month after the birth of my first child. It worked really well for healing and soothing and I wished I'd ordered sooner. For my second child's birth, I was prepared and ordered the 5 pound bag months before he was born! It works so much better than the dinky little tea bag size herb baths that you generally see for sale.
