The liver is the chemical plant of the human body, dealing with all the toxins, disease and poisons we may encounter. Due to bad diet, sickness and stress, sometimes the liver needs healing and restoration. Milk thistle and its active component, silymarin, are famous for liver support. Because of its antioxidant properties, silymarin may help inhibit oxidative damage to liver cells. The effects of silymarin help keep liver cells from swelling in response to injury. Silymarin appears to encourage the liver to grow new cells, while discouraging the formation of inactive fibrous tissue. By changing the outside layer of liver cells, silymarin may also keep harmful chemicals from getting into liver cells.
Traditionally, milk thistle seed and its active component, silymarin, have been used to support liver problems or diseases. Silymarin is a unique flavonoid compound; studies in the U.S. and abroad tentatively indicate strong liver support in cases of liver compromise due to cirrhoses, hepatic diseases, and fatty build-up commonly associated with gall bladder and liver stones.

I take milk thistle in the morning if I'm feeling sluggish. This stuff is great, but I have a little less success with this particular one than some other brands... maybe because it's an extract? Still effective, but I'm not sure it's as effective as another brand I've used.
Thank you Beeyoutiful for providing us with your best in liver support at a good price. I only recently realized my liver's needs and have searched for the all around best product and found it from a family-owned company committed to providing the best for us.
I have had numerous gallbladder attacks over the last 5 years which began 6 weeks after my fifth baby was born. When I got pregnant with number 6, I was very concerned about how I would deal with gallbladder attacks while pregnant. My doctor persistenly tried to convince me to have surgery in the 2nd trimester to have my gallbladder removed. I had no peace about doing surgery while pregnant. I did some research and added the Silymarin Liver Support and the Digestive Enzymes from Beeyoutiful. I also started taking a sunflower lecithin capsule. I never had even the slightest twinge or symptom of gallbladder troubles while pregnant. I knew the postpartum hormonal shift would be extra hard for my liver. I only had a few brief episodes of minor gas and bloating. I increased the supplements and it cleared up in a few days. I haven't had a gallbladder attack since starting these supplements (15 months) . I praise God for giving me answers and am grateful for Beeyoutiful's quality supplements!
I unknowingly spent the first 30+ years of my life stressing and damaging my liver. Taking milk thistle was one of the first things I started doing to heal the damage. I was thankful to find Beeyoutiful's Silymarin Liver Support because it provides me with the quality product I need at a more affordable price than the product I was previously taking. And the results seem just as good!
I started a yeast cleanse and quickly had to deal with an enflamed liver from the candida die-off from detoxing too quick, I ordered this product after reading an article from the Beeyoutiful catalog, I was not disappointed, very quickly I noticed an improvement and have used the product consistently since.
When my husband got lab results back that indicated he had liver damage the doctor recommended that he stop drinking. "I don't drink!" my husband told him. Although my husband has had severe asthma and has had to use steroids and many rounds of predisone in his life, the doctors assured us that those things should not affect his liver (yeah, right). So I did some research and developed a diet plan for him and added Beeyoutiful's Silymarin Liver Support to his supplements. 3 months later my husbands lab numbers had improved dramatically, 3 months after that the labs were within normal ranges! Since that time 4 years ago we have backed way off the diet plan that included a quart of fresh lemonade daily and huge amounts of fresh veggies (lots of cucumbers), but we have continued the Silymarin and his labs have stayed within normal range despite the fact that he still has to use the steroids for his allergy induced asthma!
Is Silymarin safe to take during pregnancy? I tend to have a sluggish liver and have been wondering what I can do to support it during pregnancy.

Yes, in general Silymarin is considered safe to take while pregnant and nursing. We do advise as with all supplements that you research each ingredient and speak with your midwife or health practitioner to make sure it is appropriate for you specifically.
