We have never had a product so loved as Berry Well®! Its simple yet incredibly effective ingredients have made it the stuff of legend among our Beeyoutiful families and customers. It is by far one of the most convenient and effective ways to utilize the incredible properties of a variety of ingredients that work together synergistically.
Beeyoutiful® is now offering a way for you to create your own homemade elderberry syrup so that you have an affordable and effective recourse should Berry Well be unavailable, or if you have a large family and stocking up on Berry Well in sufficient quantities isn't an option for your budget.
It is more work to create your own elderberry syrup, and it doesn't taste exactly like Berry Well, but we have saved you some steps and made it as convenient as possible by combining most of the must-have ingredients into one discounted package. You also get the satisfaction of knowing you have created an amazing health-supporting product for you and those you love with your own two hands.
Each Elderberry Syrup Starter Kit contains enough supplements and primary ingredients to make a minimum of 4 quarts of homemade syrup (with some ingredients left over). Feel free to tweak the recipe below based on your individual family's needs and taste preferences.
Each of Beeyoutiful®'s Homemade Elderberry Syrup Starter Kits contains 1 box of Traditional Medicinals Echinacea Tea, 1 bottle of Bee Immune™, 1 bottle of Gentle C, and 1/2 lb. of dried organic Elderberries. You will need to source raw unfiltered honey (preferably from a local apiary) and raw apple cider vinegar to round out the ingredients list.
Beeyoutiful®'s Homemade Elderberry Syrup Recipe
Makes 1 Quart
You will need: 1 cup boiling water 4 Echinacea teabags 6 capsules of Beeyoutiful's Bee Immune (Bee Propolis) 1 cup Unfiltered Local Raw Honey 1/2 cup dried elderberries 2 cups water 4 Tablespoons Raw Apple Cider Vinegar 6 capsules of Beeyoutiful's Gentle C
Step 1: Add 4 teabags to 1 cup of boiling water and cover. Allow to steep until slightly warm, 30 minutes or more.
Step 2: While teabags are steeping, place 2 cups of water and dried elderberries in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then lower temperature and cover so that it remains at a gentle simmer. Allow it to simmer together for at least 30 minutes. Berries should be soft and easily mashed.
Step 3: Remove tea bags, squeeze and set strong tea aside.
Step 4: Once berries have finished simmering, remove from heat and allow to cool. After cooling, pour juice through a fine mesh strainer into a wide mouthed quart jar. Use a spatula to move berry pulp around, making sure every last bit of the juice is extracted.
Step 5: Open capsules of Bee Immune and Gentle C into the still-warm echinacea tea and use a whisk to blend in.
Step 6: Add tea mixture to quart jar of elderberry juice. Add cup of honey (gently warmed to make pourable, if necessary) and then 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar. Cap tightly and shake well to mix all ingredients.
Shake well before serving. Can be stored in recycled Berrywell bottles for easier serving or kept in larger quart jar. Will stay good refrigerated for up to 6 months. Feel free to substitute any ingredients or customize in any way that is best suited to your particular needs.
Keep stored in refrigerator. Do not serve to babies less than a year old.
Adults: take 1 tablespoon as often as needed. Children 4 years old and older: 1 tsp. as often as needed For children 1 to 4 yrs old: 1/2 tsp
I gave 4 stars because I think while yes this is an amazing deal I find it cheaper to buy the tea at the store. All that said if you love berry well which I do and bought the pre made jar ran out tried to buy more and it was out of stock like ever time I checked so my own kit here ya go! It's really simple love that they did this for us and gave very easy instructions to have the best stuff in your frig to combat the flu / sick season! It's literally the best. Buy it.
We love this berry well starter kit. Super easy to make and LOTS cheaper then the already made berry well.. we love to have this on hand all the time ready to give to the kids as soon as they get sick.. and our two boys love it! It's a win win!!
It is wonderful and it has kept my kids well throughout the year! They obviously will pick up a cold or small virus once in a while but this elderberry kit really keeps them healthy overall! And they love the taste! I also add a few tsp of brandy to go in the syrup as this helps fights sicknesses and germs — gives them a boost to their immune system! They can’t taste it as it’s such a minuscule amount.
Great product! Finally, I can afford Berrywell for all my 10 children. I can also control the amount of honey (sweetener) that is added. It is also not difficult to make. The instructions are very clear. I have had great success in keeping my children well with this product! Thanks!
I purchased this wonderful kit earlier this year and have made 2 batches of it so far and my whole family loves it!! We are all believers in elderberry syrup now. Recently we had the flu hit 3 people out of 5 in our family and we took this every 4 hours and I wholeheartedly believe it reduced our symptoms. And the other 2 people never got the flu, which is a first for our family! We will NEVER be without this kit. Thank you Beeyoutiful for making this available and inexpensive!
Thank you so much for offering the affordable option Beeyoutiful. I make a double batch of this that I store in my fridge and I have a syrup dispenser that I keep filled on the counter. Every day I put a dose in small medicine cups for each of my seven children and add some liquid D3 too. It has been a great combo during the flu season.
I really enjoy the option of making my own, thanks for offering this package :) I also like that there is a lot of extra vitamin C, proposes, etc left over if I want something additional in my immune boosting routine. My kids love the taste of the elderberry syrup! I didn't notice a reduction in kids' colds this winter but perhaps it kept them from getting as severe a case.
This kit is great! It makes taking elderberry more affordable with a little preparation. The kit comes with all you need aside from raw honey and vinegar which most have on hand. It tastes great! It includes lots of healthy extras with Bee Immune and Vitamin C. And after you finish making the gallon, you even have products leftover!
This is a great kit b/c it has everything you need minus local honey and vinegar. The instructions are easy to follow too. My only complaint is that the ingredient list calls for 4 tablespoons of vinegar and then the actual directions only call for 2. I went ahead and used 4 b/c I measured everything before I actually followed the directions. Well, it made the syrup way more vinegary than I would like, but it still works, so I'll know better next time. For the price, this kit is so worth it though.
I was very happy with this and had fun making it. My children all seem to love it. I only did two tablespoons of vinegar to keep that strong taste out. I really wish Beeyoutiful would include a printed copy with the kit though...
Moderator Note--There are step by step instructions on the website at http://www.beeyoutiful.com/elderberrysyrupkit.html, with pictures.
We just received our kits this week and have already started using it! I made the entire batch too! The directions said two different things in regards to the vinegar.... 2 TBS and 4TBS. So I put 3 TBS in.
My husband, sons, and daughters all like the taste!
Oh, since honey makes my throat swell up, I made a special quart just for me, using stevia instead!
This is a great kit, and I did check prices first, and this beats all, even without it being on sale!
I love making this herbal tincture for my family! We have allergies and this has worked great. We will take it once-three times a day and it keeps allergies from flaring up. It's great for colds too. If we start to get the sniffles we just begin taking it 3x a day or even more! There are no side effects like you would have to be concerned about with medications. God gave us herbs and natural remedies. I love getting back to using them!
I bought this kit to try once I found out I was pregnant and could no longer take Ultra Immune. This has much less in it than the ultra immune yet still packs a punch for boosting the immune system. It cooks up quick and the taste is similar to Berry Well. I found it to be a little thinner and not as sweet. I may adjust my honey content on my next batch. Overall, it is a great substitute while pregnant and trying to keep my immune system up.
We've been using Berry Well Classic for years for the kids. I hesitated to buy this because I was afraid it would be too time consuming and complicated. It wasn't bad at all! I actually had fun doing it! The kids love it too!
My son was on asthma meds during the winter...I started him on berry well...and no longer needs them!! I do give it to him everyday. When he seems to be tightening up a bit I give twice a day. So far no trip to ER like we have been the past 4 years!
I love being able to make this wellness syrup in large quantities for my family of 8. My six year old enjoyed helping me boil the berries, brew the tea, and pour in the capsules. We have all enjoyed good health since I've been able to keep this in constant supply!
When found this site, I was only looking to buy dried elderberries to make some syrup, then I saw this kit. I thought I'd give it a go, since it used extra ingredients that intrigued me. The instructions are so easy, I came back from a conference a day into the flu with an empty jar of syrup. I was hurting but it was so easy to make up a batch. I hope you have it in stock again soon, I've been raving about it.
This was so much easier than I thought it would be! And my kids still love the taste. I am so thankful for this option and being able to stock up. Berry well is our families favorite and now I am able to afford to stock up!
Since we have such a large family, I had been waiting until I could afford to buy the gallon of elderberry syrup, which never did come along. When I saw the kit I was very excited to finally be able to get/make some. When the kit arrived we immediately went to work making it. So far no sickness and the family doesn't mind taking it as it has a very pleasant taste. Thank you for making it possible for us to have this product.
I received the Elderberry Syrup Starter Kit today and didn't waste a minute to make up my first batch. I was down to the last couple of doses of the Original Berry Well Syrup, and didn't want to be without this great immune system protection. The instructions included were very clear and helpful. I sampled it after waiting for it to chill a few hours. It has that great Elderberry flavor of the original. I'm sure that the variable for each person's homemade syrup would be the Raw Honey that they choose to use. Mine turned out great, and I have enough to make 3 more batches with the remaining ingredients!
My family of seven has been taking Berry Well during the cold/flu season for 5 years now. It works! But dishing out close to 6 tablespoons at a time the bottle would go fast! Thank you for making this kit and your recipe available. I will be sharing with friends and keeping us all well.
I never gave my children Berrywell very often, because it was so expensive for four kids. Now I am glad for this great kit to make my own at home. We have just battled some colds, and I made 2 recipes of this. It really helped shorten the duration of their colds, in addition to using garlic salve on their feet.
I just made my first batch, so easy!! And the price is great!! I added a tad more honey than the recipe calls for, along with a drop of Cassia EO and 2 drops of Clove EO and I think it tastes just like the original Berrywell!!
Thank you for creating such an economical option!!!
I was so excited to see this starter kit being offered and amazed at how affordable it was. It's such a blessing to have all the ingredients neatly packaged for you, without having to round them up individually. The syrup is very easy to make and I am pleased with the amount as well. For the low price, you can't beat that. :) It will last my family all winter, and as been key in getting us through the winter months with very few colds. I call this my liquid gold. I will definitely be buying again!
My children and I made our elderberry syrup as soon as we received this!! It is wonderful! I am so excited you have made this possible. The directions with pictures were so clear and easy to follow. With a large family, buying the amount of Berry Well we needed was just not possible! Thank you for making it possible for us to have our very favorite "medicine" around all the time.
I ordered this and received it very quickly -within two days. Made it up right away because I was fighting a very bad cold and everything I had been doing wasn't enough. Within 24 hrs. of taking the syrup 3 x a day, I was 75 % better. The second day, I did 2 doses and was almost 100% the next day. It tastes amazing and makes a quart so is well worth the investment.
Hello! Although we haven't personally yet tested adding Probiotics to our homemade versions of Berrywell, we have had a few customers who have and told us they felt like it was beneficial. If you do choose to add probiotics to the blend make sure it's cooled to less than 110 degrees before adding them to ensure they are able to preserve their potency as much as possible. Hope this helps! If you decide to try it please let us know what you think about how it turns out. =)

It says not to refrigerate berrywell but when you make the elderberry starter kit it says to refrigerate. What is the difference? Why refrigerate one and not the other? If refrigeration is not available what would the shelf life of the homemade version be?
Question by: Gwen Hull on Oct 10, 2016 11:16:00 AM
Hello Gwen, the difference is how the product is made. The Berrywell Classic is made from fresh squeezed/juiced elderberries and paired with Echinacea in tincture/alcohol form along with the other ingredients. This makes for a shelf stable end product that cannot be replicated at home. In the starter kit the echinacea comes from steeping in tea bags steeped in water and elderberries rehydrated and steeped in water. A water base is not as stable and would require a preservative in order to be stable without refrigeration. Since this recipe was designed around refrigeration for stability we have not tested how long it remains stable at room temperatures. I would say no more than 12 to 24 hrs.
If refrigeration is not an option at all our recommendation would be to make very small batches that can be consumed within a few hours of being made or investing in the Berrywell classic which will remain stable at room temperature for years.
